Frequently asked questions

Are you a non-profit?

Yes. We became a non profit with the state of Michigan in 2015. We obtained our 501(c)(3) status with the IRS in 2017.

Are donations tax deductible?

Yes! As of 2017 donations are tax deductible as long as no goods or services where given in exchange for the donation. Please note that starting in 2018 reciepts will be given for any donation $50 and over. And a end of the year contribution form will be mailed out for tax purpurses.

Is Harvest of Generosity just for students?

No! We love working with youth! But we also love working with individuals of all ages. Please see our get involved section, or contact us for more ways to get involved.

Where does the produce go?

Part of our mission statement is to build community. One of the ways that we build community is through donating our produce. We want to feed the hungry in the communities we are working in. We don't want to create a new ministry but instead, we want to support existing ministries. We want to use our organic produce to support existing non-profits and churches. We regularly give shares of our produce to churches and non-profits and to be an extension of their ministries. Produce grown is distrubeted among churches, non-profits, and those in need in our community.

How can I get involved?

What do you like to do!? We have lots of areas you may serve. Please contact us and we can talk more about service oppurtunities.
